D1ofAquavibe

My NEW album STARLITE now available!

Also on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, etc.

Blurred memories of falling asleep to a TV playing old shows/movies & the sound of the dreams that followed. Starlite is the sequel to Dusk, creating a soundtrack to a night of dreams filled with distorted nostalgia, wonder, and loss.

DUSK (a subconscious nocturne)

Also on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, etc.

A soundtrack within a journey of falling unconscious and descending into a stream of dreams (and that surreal/nostalgic fluidity that your subconscious creates while you’re under).

New Chill/Lo-Fi album dropping!

After months in the works, I will be releasing my new chill/lo-fi project. I've uploaded many videos on Instagram of partial tracks that are short and unfinished. This new album was built by selecting some of the best ones and going back and building them into full tracks/songs.

My vision for this album is trying to create a soundtrack/soundscape emulating the journey of altered states of consciousness, most specifically falling unconscious and dreaming (and that strange/trippy fluidity that your subconscious creates while you’re under). In addition to the various instruments I played on the tracks of this album, I also used the turntable as an instrument using "platter play" technique (using a keyboard to control the speed/pitch of the turntable in order to play melodies at will). DJing (specifically turntablism) has been a love of mine for years, and to create an album which heavily features the turntable as a lead melodic instrument is truly exciting for me - I love it.  I'm really excited about it and I will update more info shortly :)

Welcome

I make music… from many angles.

Musician,  Composer,  Producer,  Vocalist,  DJ,  Band Leader,  Looper,  Remixer,  Gamer,  …Everythingist.

I’m a self-taught,  multi-instrumental musician with an innate passion for creating and performing. I’ve been writing and producing all styles of music for many projects and contracted assignments for many years now,  as well as performing live on stage as a musician/vocalist (with my band Aquavibe) and also as a DJ.  Some of the music I’ve created has been licensed and featured:
-on TV commercials (ie – Victoria’s Secret, Gillette, etc),
-as network theme songs (on ESPN, MTV, etc.),
-in film soundtracks and video games (with my band Aquavibe),
-and also on YouTube (ie- gaming videos by KYR SP33DY, MiniLadd, Vanoss, Lui Calibre, FaZe Clan, Seananners, Sandy Ravage, etc.)

Lo-Fi album

For a while now, I've been producing chill/lo-fi tracks (some of which you might see clips of on my Instagram).  Years ago, before any of my YouTuber remixes and before making those viral troll songs, I was mainly producing chill/lo-fi style hip-hop beats (back then they were sometimes referred to it as "trip-hop"). So, I've been getting more active with producing that style of music again and I'm in the process of creating a collection of these tracks which I will be releasing as a "lo-fi" album.  I'm aiming to release that album online in the next few months. While producing this album, I'll also still be actively working on YouTuber remixes and my other "regular" content as well :)

Crew mixtape/remixes

A while back, after creating a bunch of Crew remixes (the "Crew" = YouTube video gaming group ft. KYR SP33DY, Jahova, Deluxe4, NobodyEpic, ShadowBeatz, Sidearms4Reason, G18, Deluxe20), I had decided to start a new series called "The Crew Mixtape" which featured a more music/less video approach which featured me taking recordings of their voices and turning them into "instruments". Instead of remixing footage of their video-gaming moments (like my earlier remixes of them), I centered this series around my creative process and musically performing the remix on my equipment (ft. Maschine, Ableton Push, Linnstrument, keyboard, etc). I made 6 Crew Mixtape songs/videos - Voices in the Rabbit Hole, Dicked, Somewhere Hova the Rainbow, No Money Anthem, Mr. Latabich, Not Today Satan - over the course of months and I believe that the Mixtape project is now complete. Most recently, I've since made a couple more Crew remixes - I'm So Bad, How You Not Ded Bruh? - and even though I create content of other YouTubers/celebs, I will still be making more Crew remixes, so keep your eyes open, they're coming :D

FaZe Jev remixes

A while back when I made the FaZeCeption remix (ft. FaZe Rain, FaZe Apex, FaZe Adapt, FaZe Blaziken, etc), I received multiple requests to remix FaZe Jev. So, I did - a few times lol. My Jev remixes ("Do Something", "Run", and "Chop Chop") can be heard regularly on his video outros on YouTube.

I'm currently working on the 4th FaZe Jev remix, which was unfortunately delayed for over a month. In the process of making it, my computer died and after weeks in the repair shop their repair estimate was almost the price of a new computer, so I declined and had to go buy another one.

Back on track now - music is done, now just finishing shooting the video, then it's time to edit. It will be finished and uploaded to YouTube very soon ;)

FaZe-ception

In a recent FaZe vlog video, the FaZe Clan members (Rain, Apex, and Adapt) talked about their admiration for a certain "D1ofAquavibe" and his songs, which they've used in their YouTube videos for years now.  After watching this video/conversation, I recorded and chopped up their words/voices and turned it into a remix entitled "FaZe Loves D1ofAquavibe".  I created a video for it and uploaded it to YouTube the next day. The next day after that, they posted a vlog about them watching the remix and loving it.  They liked it so much that they then shot a music video of them at the FaZe House L.A. dancing, nodding, and just goofing around to the soundtrack of my remix of them... funny stuff lol.
I'm currently creating the "extended" version of this remix which will be available on iTunes, Google Play, Spotify, etc.

The Crew Mixtape

I've been working on a project I call "The Crew Mixtape" which is a group of songs I make based on the online gaming group "The Crew" (KYR SP33DY, Jahova, D4, etc).  It's similar but unlike the previous two Crew remixes ("In a World of Derp and "The Crew Mix 2") in that IAWOD and TCM2 were basically "best of funny moments" remixes that contained many funny Crew quotes/sentences strung together almost like lyrics to the remix music/beat.  The Crew Mixtape comes from a slightly different angle and is kinda more "cool" and less about "funny" - it is based on taking recorded bits/slices of the Crew's words (taken from their videos) and turning them into instruments which creates the song. These Mixtape songs will be on iTunes, Google Play, Spotify, etc. and the "making of" videos will be on my Youtube channel.

The Crew, Mix 2 released! And Pax East 2015

After working for weeks and weeks (over months), I've finally completed the production of "The Crew, Mix 2" - the song/video remix of YouTube's 9 "Crew" members (KYR SP33DY, Jahova, D4, etc).  It took what seems like forever to complete but I'm so happy with it and it's getting a great response from Crew fans.  You can view it below this blog post.  So now, one day after concluding all the hard work, it's time to relax a little - I'm headed up to Boston for Pax East this weekend. Will be seeing members of the Crew and checking out new games and stuff - gonna be fun :)

Crew Remix #2 and Streaming updates!

The 2nd Crew Remix is definitely behind schedule but it is coming along nicely :)
I recently created the music changes for NobodyEpic and G18 as well as finished the tedious edits to the music part of Shadowbeatz's section as well - sounding really good.  So the music is basically complete now which leaves the audio remix then the video remix layers to be completed to go over it.
Because of all the music-making streaming I've been doing lately though on twitch.tv/D1 , my progress on the Remix has slowed down.  This is due to the fact that I can't stream my work on the Remix (because it's secret until reveal), so the time I'd be spending on the Remix has decreased as my time spent streaming has increased.  It's unfortunate that this has caused a delay but on the other hand, the streaming has been going great!  I have such a great bunch of followers on Twitch that Twitch has granted me a partnership and I've since gained a few dozen subscribers as well (you guys are great).  As per request, I've even started a little bit of game streaming too.
Adding to my list of "music to finish", is the D4 Theme, the collaboration song with Shadowbeatz, the "sad" song that I created on stream, as well as a few others that have started but not finished.  In addition to these, is all the tracks I create on stream in front of viewers - I now have dozens of them and I need to eventually go back and finish them into complete songs... whew, I'll be busy lol. Oh and lastly, me and Shadow will be doing some music 1v1 competitions live on stream soon (who can make a track faster in a short time, etc) haha - we'll make a "multitwitch" link so that both his and my stream can be watched by viewers on the same screen while we "race" each other :P
That's it for now guys, thanks for all the support!

Currently working on the 2nd Crew Remix

So, I've been in the process of creating the 2nd remix for the Crew.  It is SO much work, which is why it's taking so long to complete.  There are 9 Crew members, so it's like making 9 mini-remixes that have to mesh together as one.
I can let you in on the behind-the-scenes process of what the process includes in order to create these remixes:

1- compose a music soundtrack that will be the backbone and glue of the remix.  This should include 9 sections (one for each member).
2- scan through dozens and dozens of Crew videos to find funny moments, audio clips, and video clips that I think would be good for the remix.
3- download all the videos, and record the countless funny audio clips into my music program, then dissect and categorize them all.
4- create the audio remix: chop up and arrange the audio clips together like a puzzle over the soundtrack/beat in a way that is rhythmic and funny at the same time.  It has to mesh together, like a song and lyrics.
5- re-edit the soundtrack so that it now works correctly with all the Crew audio on top of it.
6- create the video remix: now chop up and arrange the numerous video clips in my video editing program to lay over top of the audio remix in a way so that they line up and work together as one.  This is an entirely separate process from the audio remix and often winds up pairing video clips with audio clips that were not previously connected.
7- scan the internet endlessly for funny pictures and videos that will be meshed into the remix. Use these pics/vids as well as special effects and video editing adjustments to enhance the overall entertainment value of the remix (make it funnier/more entertaining).

The amount of work involved is enormous but I love the finished product.  And with almost 75,000 combined likes so far on the 1st remix (between mine and Speedy's channel), I'd say other people dig it too :D
So, be patient, it will be here soon.
I'm working on it right now :)
